UPSR 2012

My youngest child is going to sit for her UPSR tomorrow...and I think I am more nervous than she is.

"Esok habis exam pukul berapa, masyitah?"
"Pukul 3.."
" Aik? Hari exam pun balik lewat?"
"Kena prepare untuk the next exam paper pulak.."

This is what we called Gila. I wonder if other schools in Malaysia are doing the same thing...This school is so exam-oriented that even during exam days children are forced to be in class to get the so called 'last minute tips' from the the teacher. However, I do have a little sympathy towards the teachers too because they are willing to sacrifice their free time for the sake of my daughter and other Std 6 students. But is this type of 'sacrifice'  really worth the effort?

There are times when I think these teachers and the principal (also from other schools) should do some reflection on themselves...I don't think children should be burdened with more school work  during the exam week. They should be given the time to relax and take some extra 'breath' before the 'big' time. I don't think the teachers have  'forgotten' about this...but I'm still puzzle why most schools like my daughter's school are ignorant about this matter. Must be the pressure form  above. Who is the above? Ala...of course we all know who/what is the above...or, ALL OF THE ABOVE?    :)

"Syitah ngantuk la Ibu.."
"Pi la tidoq..."
"Kalau Syitah tidoq sekarang, malam ni susah nak tidoq pulak..."
"Pi la tengok TV...sudah tengok buku tu..." I told my daughter without feeling any guilty...
"Tak boleh...nanti lupa.."

So kesian..it's already 6pm and she just came back from school, but she's still pulun studying...ish, ish..ish..budak sekarang..I don't remember looking at any book before my Peperiksaan Darjah Lima exam..

Any, to the children and parents of all standard 6 students ...I would like to wish you all the BEST OF ALL in the UPSR  2012 which will start tomorrow...Aameen...
