Yes, it's a movie...a dark romantic comedy that I watched with my children, Amirah and Asyraf just an hour ago...We had a good time, commenting on the dialogues and scenes and having a 'teh-tarik' session while viewing the movie. Asyraf and Najihah are going back to KL tomorrow and I didn't want to let the night slip away without spending the time with them.
What is so interesting about the movie? Well, for one thing..Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence made a handsome couple, I guess. Then, there was Robert De Nero who made the movie more watchable....and this 'dancing' thing. It's interesting how a physical activity like dancing could connect people again. How it could bond and make relationships strong and intact. They could easily get in touch or connected through smses, facebook or twitter but that is not the case in this movie. The relationship is more genuine and real here just by doing it the old ways. Oh yes, one more thing...reading is another 'useful' activity mentioned in the movie.
And, talking about the world today, besides having all the technological advancements, we've seen so many destructions and chaos caused by it. More and more time are spend on computers and the internet rather than spending quality time with the members of the family. Everyone in the house has his own laptop , computer, Ipad and what not...So, everyone is looking at this technology tools more than they look at each other. Therefore, they will be less communication in the house and if there is one, most of the time it will be misinterpreted or misunderstandings. Isn't that sad? Once, it was a happy family...now, it has become a disastrous one.
Bradley Cooper is not my favourite actor although I love "Hangover". Jennifer Lawrence is my better choice. I began to like her acting skills since I watched her in The Hunger Games. She's a knockout. Anyway, overall, I like the movie because it's funny and entertaining. And, what is more meaningful than to be able to share your happiest moments with your love ones like your own children.
It's 10.30pm, and I know I should be putting off the lights now...Tapi rasa macam nak dengar lagu Anuar Zain pulak....I missed his concert at UUM last month..macammana boleh terlepas pun tak tau...anyway, antara banyak banyak lagu nyanyian beliau, yang ini selalu terngiang di telinga...Enjoy u alls!
Biarkan
Biarku
istirahat di ranjang ini,
kerana kedua bola mata ini telah teramat lelahnya;
Biar sajak-sajak bersalut perak bergetaran dan menyejukkan jiwaku;
Terbangkan dawai-dawai harpa dan singkapkan tabir lara hatiku.
Nyanyikanlah
masa-masa lalu seperti engkau memandang fajar harapan dalam mataku,
kerana makna ghaibnya begitu lembut bagai ranjang kapas tempat hatiku
berbaring.
Hapuslah air matamu, saudaraku,
dan tegakkanlah kepalamu seperti bunga-bunga menyemai jari-jemarinya menyambut
mahkota fajar pagi.
Lihatlah
infiniti;
Tahanlah nafasmu dan dengarkan kibaran kepak sayap-sayapnya.
Dekatilah aku, dan ucapkanlah selamat tinggal buatku.
Ciumlah
mataku dengan seulas senyummu.
Biarkan anak-anak merentang tangan-tangan mungilnya buatku dengan kelembutan
jemari merah jambu mereka;
Biarkanlah Masa meletakkan tangan lembutnya di dahiku dan memberkatiku;
I strongly believe the power of Du'a or prayer. In times of worry or sadness especially Du'a will always be my best friend...I would be reciting it most comfortably in BM rather than arabic because I know Allah knows better and more...(than anyone else in the world). Reading some verses from the Quran is also part of Du'a. In fact, I always get this instant calmness and relief every time I read the Quran.
In al-Qur'an, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says: "When
My servants ask about Me, I am indeed close to them. I listen to the
prayer of every supplicant, when he calls on Me. Let them also, with a
will, listen to My call, and believe in Me, so that they may walk in the
right way"
al-Qur'an 2:186
Reciting a Du'a shouldn't be the last resort however....(I used to do that before Allah granted me with a little wisdom). Even when we're at our happiest moment, Du'a should always be recited so to maintain the joy at the longest period. So, jom du'a everyone! Believe me, u will not regret.
My youngest child is going to sit for her UPSR tomorrow...and I think I am more nervous than she is.
"Esok habis exam pukul berapa, masyitah?"
"Pukul 3.."
" Aik? Hari exam pun balik lewat?"
"Kena prepare untuk the next exam paper pulak.."
This is what we called Gila. I wonder if other schools in Malaysia are doing the same thing...This school is so exam-oriented that even during exam days children are forced to be in class to get the so called 'last minute tips' from the the teacher. However, I do have a little sympathy towards the teachers too because they are willing to sacrifice their free time for the sake of my daughter and other Std 6 students. But is this type of 'sacrifice' really worth the effort?
There are times when I think these teachers and the principal (also from other schools) should do some reflection on themselves...I don't think children should be burdened with more school work during the exam week. They should be given the time to relax and take some extra 'breath' before the 'big' time. I don't think the teachers have 'forgotten' about this...but I'm still puzzle why most schools like my daughter's school are ignorant about this matter. Must be the pressure form above. Who is the above? Ala...of course we all know who/what is the above...or, ALL OF THE ABOVE? :)
"Syitah ngantuk la Ibu.."
"Pi la tidoq..."
"Kalau Syitah tidoq sekarang, malam ni susah nak tidoq pulak..."
"Pi la tengok TV...sudah tengok buku tu..." I told my daughter without feeling any guilty...
"Tak boleh...nanti lupa.."
So kesian..it's already 6pm and she just came back from school, but she's still pulun studying...ish,ish..ish..budak sekarang..I don't remember looking at any book before my Peperiksaan Darjah Lima exam..
Any, to the children and parents of all standard 6 students ...I would like to wish you all the BEST OF ALL in the UPSR 2012 which will start tomorrow...Aameen...
My first Tarawikh was with my Opah (arwah). I was 8 years old at that time. After Maghrib, we prepared ourselves to go to the 'Melsah' (surau). Before that, Tok had already made his way to the same place with his bicycle.Opah brought a torch light with her while I tagged along with a 'pelita' in my hand.
We walked through some series of thick bushes in the dark pitched night before we arrived at the melsah. There were not many people in the Melsah, only about 25 people whose mostly were old people.. I think I was the only young people there..
As there was no fan in the melsah, I felt quite hot and sweated while performing the whole 21 rakaat of Tarawikh. That was the only time to date that I've ever solat Tarawikh in full. That was also the first and the last time that I've ever solat Tarawikh in that Melsah.... :) .
That was like 34 years ago and neither Opah nor Tok is around to entertain me during Ramadhan anymore . However, I shall always remember this experience as long as I live..
Miss you so much, TOK and OPAH... :(
"Antara
kelebihan besar bulan Ramadhan ialah di dalamnya terdapat
lalilatul-Qadar atau malam al-Qadar (kemuliaan) yang dinyatakan
keistimewaannya secara khusus oleh Allah dalam surah al-Qadr.
Cukuplah saban tahun kita mengorbankan 10 Malam Terakhir Ramadhan
mengatur segala urusan. Malam itu (penuh) kesejahteraan sampai terbit
fajar". (al-Qadr: 1-5)
Dalam surah ini kita melihat kelebihan malam al-Qadar iaitu;
Ia merupakan malam penurunan al-Quran. Menurut Ibnu 'Abbas; penurunan
sebagaimana mereka turun tatkala mendengar bacaan al-Quran, mereka
Malam
al-Qadar itu penuh dengan kesejahteraan hingga terbit fajar, yakni;
dalam sabdanya;
تحرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاْخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَاْنَ "Carilah lailatul-Qadar pada sepuluh malam terakhir dari bulan Ramadhan" (Riwayat Imam Bukhari dan Muslim dari Saidatina Aisyah R.A)
A
devoted farmer painstakingly planted a tribute to his late wife, Janet,
using 6,000 oak trees to etch out a giant heart in the middle of his
field in South Gloucestershire, England. Howes, 70, and a gardener spent
weeks planning and setting out each oak after his wife died suddenly 15
years ago. He planted the fledgling trees across a six-acre field after
carefully marking out a heart shape in one half of the grass, with the
heart pointing in the direction of her childhood home. The stunning crop
was captured in its full beauty after a balloonist sailed over the
farmhouse and photographed the field from the air.
