Surprise!!!
I came back from class this morning and found these presents on my table...They're from Anis Hazrati bt Ihsan, my former student who is still here studying but is no more my student. She won first prize in the Storytelling Competition, held this year and was organised by the Bahagian Matrikulasi. I was the coach. I think she wanted to share her 'cash' with me. I was not only surprised...I was also touched by her thought and kindness...
Thanks Anis. Thank you very much!

The Days of Glory
Just watched this film on dvd tonight. Would recommend anyone to watch it. It's breathtaking and very thought provoking. It's a story about the journey and the plight of 4 muslim soldiers who fought for the liberation of France during world war I. It's not a not another war movie. It had won Best Picture at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated as the Best Foreign Picture at the 2007 Academy Awards. Go and see it guys! 2 thumbs up!

Bored to death
The Boring list.
1. Was not allowed to go to Thailand
2. Too many cars at home but none can be used.
3. Got so many friends out there but nobody would like to entertain.
4. Have visitors at home but daughter isn't doing much help.
5. Been smssing but reply was so....late.
So, tell me what to do? I'm now at home, and is supposed to be resting and feeling relieve because today is a holiday. Unfortunately I'm not. Amirah brought some friends home and I tried my best to be a good host but the energy is not there. I don't know..I feel lost in my own 'home sweet home.' Maybe I should start baking again like Zue. Or sewing cross-stitch and handycrafts, or read novels like I used to. Yes, I would like to...but the baking tools are still in the store room. That means, I got to search for them first. The sewing machine has not been used for 2 years, so I got to send it to the shop for service first. The books...there are in my bedroom but my eyes are to tired to strain at the words...Ahh...excuses! excuses! excuses!!!!!This is really suicidal!! I hate this feeling but its too sensitive to be ignored.
But I should thank God, I guess coz I still have a place to pour out my frustrations. And at least I have my blog...
Maybe they are tired of listening or....
They are actually not that sincere...

"It's my life..it's NOW or NEVER...
These few days are like mad...First, my hubby's gone outstationed again...So, last night I had to send Najihah to her school for an excursion with her teachers and friends. Second, Amirah is having SPM...And I'm reciting the Yassin almost every morning. Today, I nearly forgot about it because my mind is occupied with the language Camp's matters. As the stage nearly draw it's curtain....I feel like there are still many things need to be done. And so, I read the surah in the car today because I didn't want any 'interference' from work or anyone.
Before that, I went back home as soon as I 'punched in' the yellow card because I left my handphone and *****. I tried to be at my desk most of the time but 'callings' were everywhere. I even had the Pengarah 'paging' to see me to discuss about the camp. And students coming in and out...including Arif, asking about the 'recipe' (my goodness...). But, I promised to give it to him tomorrow.
I also had a short meeting with my committed and hardworking committee members at 4pm. Then, another meeting with the language camp participants right after that (about 50 students did not turn up...oh oo...I'm in trouble...). I only went home at 7!( I really pity my children at home ). I wanted to take them to the cinema but was too tired to do so... So, I took them to this restaurant and the dinner cost RM44 for 4 people (There goes my money...)! Well, rezeki anak-anakku.
Anyway, I was somehow happy today because about 90% of the language camp work is almost done. And my class! Yes my english class was well received by the students. I played this video clip of Linkin' Park-What I've Done and had a discussion about environmental issues with them. It was very lively and exciting.
I hope the students enjoyed the lesson just as much as I do...

SMS OF THE DAY
Found this info while surfing the internet
So, for the sake of fun (and information wise) what is your blood type and what it means?
Type A
Full of bold strength, reserved and calm, not easily panic but sometimes can be very uncomfortable with people (of having to socialize and all). Type-A is a hater of confrontation and aggressiveness. However, on the contrary, Type-A can be very shy and polite but somehow solitary. Type-A is also a lover of success and perfection. They are known to be very creative and artistic and this is, perhaps due to their sensitive nature.
Type B
A practical and have extreme focus. They are the specialists of what they do. They tend to stick to a goal and follow it through to the end, even if it seems impossible. Natural born individualist, they are more attentive to their thoughts rather than heart and often seen cold and serious. However, they are often more relaxed, with free-spirited attitude and seemingly unconventional.
Your blood group and your personality.
Type O
A person with blood type O is an epitome of a happy person. Type-O is often outgoing, energetic and loves to socialize. Perhaps a great initiator but they are, at times find it hard to keep track with difficulties. They are flighty and not too dependable. Outspoken, opinionated are part of their traits and they love to be at the center of attention. In addition, their act often reflects their extreme confident attitude.
Type AB
Most unpredictable for having the characteristic of both A and B blood type, the people with AB blood type can be very hard to sort them out. They can be both shy and cold and able to switch their mode almost immediately. However, AB people are trustworthy and responsible, but can't handle it when too much is asked of them. They are mostly interested in art and metaphysics.
*** Somehow true...
Language Camp
I had only I class this morning but I still got back home quite late. I had a meeting to chair in the afternoon and some work regarding the language camp to be done. And my children to be fetched from school and my hubby to be 'seen' before he took off to KL...(etc...etc...)

I believe we all have memories about SPM. I remembered taking it in 1983 with my schoolmates in STF, JB. With 14 other girls, we were one of the first batches in Malaysia to take Social Science stream. Others were pure science students. It's a gamble because only 15 of us were dared enough to take it. And we finished the exam first. The last paper was Sejarah. The Science students had to take one more paper after that. And we had this risky plan that day after we finished taking that paper. With the help from the school driver, we 'smuggled' ourselves to Singapore to see a movie. That movie was James Bond, "Octopussy". Anyway, except for one person (it's ok, she's a Datin now) the whole class got gred 1 with aggregates below 18. We were so happy when we received the news. Ahh...what a memory.
To my Amirah and friends, Nadia (my little cousin in SMSMuar)and my friends whose children are taking the SPM...I wish you good luck and all the best!

As I was marking...
I got to know some new friends from UITM Segamat and UPM.
And got along quite well with Shima who is pregnant but having some complications.
Then, I met Albert(KMNS) who was always happy go lucky.
And hung around my Adik Jun(KMPK) who is always 'blur'..We talked, laughed and nearly cried...together.
Also, my dear kakak, Rohana(KMJ)...who's even blurrer. She's ever funny.
Other than that...
Adikida took me there during lunch time to buy some souveniers. Nothing interesting about that place actually..
Midnight show, yawning...
Before taking off....
Posing with colleagues from KMK
My 'office'
View from my room's window
*Sorry, Mukmin and Skysurfer...We'll meet some other time, insyallah...

Gamarjobat Trip to KL (16-18 October 2008)
We departed from KMK at about 5pm. The journey was quite long as it was raining along the way. We reached the Wisma Belia hotel at about 12 am. After giving out the keys to the lecturers and students, we all went to our rooms. But there were some unpleasant things about the hotel. First, the corridors. They were dark and eerie. Then, the aircond. There were only 2 remote controls catered for the whole building? Unbelievable...and it cannot be controlled? Anyway, the students didn't seem to be bothered by them. They just need the bed to lie down and the bathroom to wash themselves.
Khairul-reciting doa in English before we depart.
Amirul, Khairul and Abid ariving at the Wisma BElia....
The next day we all went to the National Library and was entertained by 2 officers. The tour was very fruitful and informative. As usual, students took pictures and tried out some facilities that were offered at the library. There was also an Asian Wedding Exibition held at the concourse. They had very interesting display of pictures and costumes at the exhibition.
Students trying out the audio/video equipment
On the 'pengantin' stage with my Account students.
News Straits Times, that day, 125 years ago...
Desmond and Chong who made up their minds the last minute.
We went to MidValley after that. I had a taste of Baskin Robbins ice cream after sucha long time. At 4.00pm we boarded back on the bus and went back to the hotel. We had a few hours of rest before we went to The Actors Studio to watch Gamarjobat.
That night everyone was wearing their best outfit for the theatre. I could sense their eagerness to watch it as it was their first time watching a show as such. We were suppossed to have our dinner there but unfortunately, the food court was closed. So, we roamed around the building and at last my friends and I were only able to find Uncle Chillies. It was funny I think becuase for RM65 dinner which consisted of fries, drinks and a very large burger, we had to share 4 (Over budget). But the burger was fresh and nicely done. The fries were natural, thick and very tasty.
My dinner.....
Sakinah and friends having a 'light dinner before the show.
And there was no words than could describe how highly entertained we all were watching the show.I was sitting with Yanti, Shah, Farid and Shakira at the first row of the seats. I managed to 'zoom' at my students and what a relief to see them laughing too. Abid, my account student and Shakira were specially picked up by the Gamarjobat duo to participate on the stage. I was happy for them. Truly I was...And after the show, when we were on the bus, a student came to me with his thumbs up and said, "Awesome, Madam. It's awesome." Wow! That remark made me smile the whole night.
Maisarah and friends after the show.
The next day, after checking out, we went to the National Planetarium. It's not that interesting actually except for it's eco theatre. Something like the one in Melbourne Natural Science Museum. We sat down on this comfortable chair and watch a documentary about our eco system and its natural landscape. Yes, it's an experience of a lifetime but it nearly made me vomitted.
Hibernating?
It was raining on and off all the way back to Kedah from Kl. Although it was tiring, I was really happy that I could do something valuable and fun with my students and friends this semester. I want them to have something memorable to take with them when they leave KMK. As for me, it's something really pleasurable for me to see them happy. When they're happy, I'm not that gloomy anymore. Tq guys... for making this trip a memorable one.
Shah and the bus driver.
HAPPINESS IS WHEN YOU MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY.
The End.
