It's the best trip to KL so far...coz I had lots and lots of time to do my own things without any interference. I went to Jln Masjid India to do a little shopping. Bought a few tudung and a 'telekung set" for Najihah. Yesterday, I spent hours at Kinokuniya with my family (until Anisah slept at one of the shelves. And amazingly, 'Abang' also took a book and read it while waiting for us who were busy doing book shopping. Everyone including masyitah bought a book. Then, 3 of of children were sent back to the apartment by their father along with their grandmother. The rest followed me to TGV. Upon Amirah's request, I bought 3 tickets to watch "Twillight". So, me, Amirah and Asyraf munch the popcorns in the theatre and relax. Well, it's not a great movie but it's worth watching although the ticket price is quite expensive compared to the one in Jitra Mall cinema. But anyway, I enjoyed the movie and the company a lot (Oh yes! While waiting for the movie to begin, I went back to the bookstore and spent 2 more hours there...)
Today, I'm going to meet my old STF friends. Venue: Concorde Hotel. 1-4pm. High Tea. I'm sure it's going to be an exciting one..Too bad that some of us couldn't make it due to other commitments. Some of them are in overseas..So, I'll stop here and come back with more stories..

22 Disember 2008 and counting...
Found this chilli plant and daun pandan on my table after coming back from class. They were from Rifae.
It's nearly towards the end of the year and I found that I'm still hook on my blog for some minutes of escapism. It's a place for telling stories where no one would listen. The silence is loud but no worries. Silence is golden.
So, I had some unexpected visitors over the weekends, my former students who were now studying at UTM, Skudai. A bunch of ever happy lads who seldomly fail to make me laugh. I also replied on going e-mails from Najwa who is also studying Medicine in Cairo. She's one of a kind coz she kept on telling me how she missed me and her past life at KMK. And of course Mukmin who sent me incomplete messages...
Today, I went to see the Spelling Bee Competition and 2 of my Account students made it through the finals and they got 2nd and third place. Congratulations! After the event, I 'ordered' the contestants and other students to take more than 1 packed food to their dorms because they were plenty! I even took home 8 of them for dinner.
As usual, students kept on coming in and out of my cubicles to get some consultations about their report writing. I threw some ideas to them and here are a few research topics that they wanted to do:
* Do women really interested in 'older' men as their partner? (of course it's the opposite to what is going on between Rita Rudaini and her partner, but what the heck!)
* Are there really ghosts in KMK?
* Music and its effects on studying.
* Are today's young generation knowledgable? (one of the questions is...Do you know where Bota is? I burst into laughter when I read the question)
* Do KMK students have a healthy lifestyle?
* Are traditional clothes your first choice?
I'm quite interested to see their findings after this and I gave them till 1st of January 2009 as the dateline for the report.
I have no class tomorrow but I'm still going to be very busy. I need to go to Affin Bank in Alor Staq to cash the students' check. Then, buy my children's school exercise books at their school. After that, I need to send my mum in law's jubah for alteration, fetch my children from home and take them to the Pengarah's son's wedding. After work...scout for the new washing machine because the old one has broken down!!!
Phew!
THE END.
p/s: I wrote this yesterday but I'm only able to post it today.

Engish Language Camp 2008
My badge
My bed
I didn't realize the bed and the locker that I use had 'my name' on it if it wasn't for my friends who mentioned it. AMAZING!
I was really surprised when my Ketua Unit told me that I would be in charge of the Language Camp this year. And all participants MUST be those who got grade 5 and 6 in their SPM English paper. Maybe my K.U knew I love to be with the students. Anyway it's over but the memories ,OF COURSE! stay.
I was happy to see the students enjoyed the camp although it was raining on the second day and nearly interrupted the aerobics session. But I told myself that the show must go on. So, we danced in the rain! GOD is great. Nobody got ill because of that.
However, there were 2 students who got stung by some insects- one while waiting for the bus, the other one while participating in the explorace. Maybe God wanted to test my patience and endurance... there was this broken down car on the road blocking my way out to the clinic. And this boy was scratching his hands, face, everywhere...and a lot of small bumps began to appear on his skin! I had to contact Hafiz, my Language Camp 'confidant' to solve the problem. Later, two men came to move the car aside. then only I managed to continued my journey to UUM clinic. I told the boy to rest and come back for other activities but he was already smiling at me during lunch time and he was ok! The spirit that he showed made me select him as Best Participant of the camp, the title that we never had before in any Language Camp.
The committee members also gave the undivided support to me despite the heavy task that they had to deal with. A few of us had to stay back and stayed in the hostel during the event. And I couldn't sleep the first night. The next night I had to endure driving home very late at night in spite of all the 'horror' stories that my friends told me about the highway. I reached home at 1.30 am and everyone had already fallen asleep.
The last day at the camp was the day of sadness to many of the students, I noticed. They were quite reluctant to leave the place. I especially like to thank the 'volunteered' Imams who took turn to lead the solats without any grundges and hesitation. Also the Bilal. He kept on saying thank you to me for organizing the camp and especially for selecting him to be one of the participants. Well, if he's that happy, I was even happier to be able to do this very small deed to him.
The sessions with Mr Fairuz was surprisingly well accepted by the students and the lecturers. Yes, he really had a very nice voice and he could speak and communicate with the students despite his lack of experience as a motivator. He's a bit naive, soft spoken and polite but showed a high level of confidence that many young speaker do not have. Hats off to Mr Fairuz!!!( Later on, he told me that he's engaged and might be getting married next year to someone who was his junior at UUM. He also mentioned to me about his ambition and family at home. I hope all his dreams will come true).
I know that there were grouses and complaints from a few of the lectures but I just don't give a DAMN! about it. I should especially THANK my commitee members-Liza (she came out with the most interesting games that I've ever known), Halimah (who helped me to deal with the food) , Ina (great clerical job done!), Anita(who tried her best to be there although she had to take care of her ailing mum ), Faz (who amazed me because she could still slip away between activities - during breaks to go for her Taekwando exam...WOW!), Shah ( a real HELPER, the MAN of the house), Pinat (a very convenient person and easy to work with), Yana and Mila (they prepared the simple but very unique and different name tags) and last but not least, Roro (for the well documented photos and videos).
Special thank should also go to my hubby to for providing the space ON TIME! And of course Hafiz and team, who helped me organised the event efficiently.

Just me, me and me....
Life has not been so unpleasant nowadays...but Hari Raya AidilAdha was celebrated the usual ways anyway. We went to the mosque and pray. Then, had lemang and rendang the whole day till we felt so full and bloated. But most of all, I enjoyed the company of my little nieces and nephews who were ever energetic and lively. I don't know how much I miss the cry and laughter and the screaming and shouting of little children till I met them. My own children has grown up and I'm getting old...
I went to the graveyard to visit my 'grandparents' and was very sad to see the state of the graves. They were fully covered with 'unwanted grasses' and weeds. They looked very messy and untidy. It took sometime for me to clean the area with my daughter and nephew. I don't want my 'grandparents' to feel ignored and isolated. We recited some surahs and I left the graveyard with a very sunken heart. I missed them so much...and even more as I'm blogging now. I miss their love, care, patience, and doing all sorts of things with them. Those were the memories and realised that they will never be repeated and come back. Hmm...
And last night, we had some VIPs coming to the college to officiate the opening of our Arkib. So, we had a few 'unlively' stage performances by the students. They were the normal tarian and a few steps of silat. That's all! How boring! And I couldn't help myself thinking about Bukhari and his Bayang Kulit friends. How exciting and extraordinary you were that you are all being handpicked by the Prof last year to perform in Dewan Millenium in Penang. I've always thought and regard you all as the most talented 'figures' in KMK.
I love every member in the family and wish to grow old gracefully with them. I love all my friends, my students (sorry, I can't remember all your names)but I cant be with you all the time. I also need some space of my own. If not, I will be kidnaped by the 'orang bunian'. But on the other hand, I know that you can't be with me as well because you all have other commitments. So, I just told myself to take one step at a time and try to calm down. And SPEAK TO THE GOD ALL THE TIME, WILL YOU!!! I will...)

2.00 in the morning
Many people fast asleep at the moment. I tried to sleep too...drank a mug of milo, took 2 pills of paracetamol but I'm still wide awake like an owl. And I feel haywire and miserable like crazy. Well, mid life crisis, I guesss. Wish I could have someone to sing to my ears now, softly and slowly. A friend told me to get an MP3 but I want something live, without music, original and soothing...Who's willing?
Could it be....
Mr Fairuz has a damned good voice!
Or Jamal Abdillah...a real manly voice.
or Josh Groban...Wow!!!
Well, the answer is...of course NOBODY's willing, you jerk!
Go to bed now and sleep!
Nite2...

As I was passing...(5.30pm)
And I smiled at the bun sellers and asked them whether they were going home as they were packing up their buns and cakes.
The wife said,
"Ya, kami nak balik dah. Kelmarin kami dapat bawak balik seribu. Hari ni short 400. Kami tak boleh juai roti dan kek kami lagi di sini. En.A tak bagi kami jual di sini."
"Kenapa?"
"Kami ingat orang Melayu nak tolong orang Melayu tapi orang Melayu yang bagi jahanam orang Melayu. Saya datang jauh dari Penang, duit minyak lagi, tol...Nak jual di Penang, susah...banyak saingan. Orang Cina banyak bukak kedai roti."
"Saya ambil alih bisnes pak mertua saya yang sakit. Duit juai roti ni lah buat beli ubat dia. Duit ubat anak saya lagi. Anak saya Down syndrome tau? Depa tak mau bagi juai kek ni pasai depa ingat kami ada bubuh apa-apa. Pasai suami saya Cina..."And she went on and on talking about her cakes, bun and her frustration
"Depa suruh saya juai depan tangga tu. Sapa nak beli? Tempat sini elok lagi. Tempat orang lalu lalang..Tak tau la cikgu. Kita cuba nak cari rezeki cara halal. Depa nak bagi pelingkup."
"Depa suruh saya tulih surat, saya dah buat tapi depa tak jawab. Kawan saya kata kita kena ada kroni untuk berniaga di sekolah atau universiti."
I really wish I could help them build their bussiness here but I don't have the power.Anyway, nice talkig to you, my dear bun sellers. I do hope you could overcome your problems soon.
p/s: Watched Antoo Fighters with my kids tonight. Yes, it is far from perfection if compared to any American movie but it's surely make you laugh nonstop. I had a serious laughtime at the cinema tonight. Congratulations to Antoo Fighters' director and crew. Job well done!
